Heidi Finds Her Bliss

The contest is now closed. Congratulations to Jennifer, Tara, and Kristinia!

Quarterly Bloggy Giveaway Carnival sponsored by Bloggy Giveaways.
Stay tuned until the end for the giveaway.

Once upon a time there was a Heidi.
Homemaker Heidi

The Heidi family had a husband…
Home Office Mr. Frantic

a daughter…
homeschool Newt
Sidenote: Girl Wonder really can spell school. Teacher? Not so much.

and a dog.
Shasta by Gumby
Another sidenote: India Elephant was reluctant to play Shasta again. She was afraid of becoming typecast. Today, the role of Shasta will be played by Gumby.

Heidi loved spending time with her husband.
Heidi loved spending time with her daughter.
Heidi even liked spending time with Shasta. Usually.
But sometimes Heidi missed spending time with Heidi. Alone.

She tried retreating to her sanctuary, but…
No Sanctuary
unfortunately it was not soundproof.

Heidi wanted some alone time, not much – just some, to…
a nap would be nice

Heidi Surfs

Bathing Heidi

The Heidi family is busy, busy, busy, but Mr. Frantic is a great guy. He is working on a plan. A good plan. A plan that includes weekly daddy/daughter dates.

In the meantime Heidi just may have to invest in a pair of…

Pure bliss.

And now for the giveaway:
Compliments of Chex Mix Bars, the Basket of Indulgence!
Including a box of Turtle Chex Mix Bars, chocolate candles, caramel lotion and spa essentials like a loofah, hand massager, nail brush and spa towel.
Earplugs not included.
Bathing you
I am also giving away one hour of time alone. If you win, I will personally email your family and ask them to please leave you alone. (That should work, right?)

I have three of these to giveaway.
Contest is open to anyone with a valid email address.
To enter, leave a comment answering at least one of the following questions:

  • Where is your sanctuary?
  • What do you do when you have time alone?
  • When was the last time you used the restroom without someone yelling through the door?

I will choose three winners on Saturday. Good luck!

  1. Ahh…the wonderful “Adventures of Heidi” I loved it! (No need to enter me into the giveaway… šŸ˜‰ I’m giving away the same thing…just wanted to mention how much I LOVE your “Adventures of Heidi”!)

    Annabelle@Christian Mommas last blog post..Faith

  2. That was cute! It must take you forever to set up your Heidi adventures. The basket of indulgence sounds like pure delight too! Thanks so much for having it.
My sanctuary is scrapbooking. I absolutely love it because I can just enjoy my memories of all the happy times from the pictures and put them into a beautifully designed and artistic scrapbook. It’s my favorite thing to do! I’m very sentimental.

  3. In our house we don’t shut the bathroom door, so that’s not a quiet place yet, everyone comes and goes as the bathroom user is using it. But, now that Ian is 6, I am thinking those days are going to be ending, privacy is going to have to be a new word in our house as he ages.

Sanctuary. Hmm… about once every two months I crash on a Sunday. I sit in my huge oversized chair in my bedroom and watch TLC all afternoon. Other than that, I would consider my computer time as my sanctuary. Sure, the family comes and goes into the office, but mainly I am left alone to click click click and tap tap tap.

  4. What a wonderful giveaway! My sanctuary is the gym or walking (quietly) in my neighborhood with my 7 year old. Just feels good to get out and concentrate on something other than whatever has happened or is happening at that moment.

  5. I love your “Adventures in Heidi.” It always brings a smile to my face. I can so relate to your current situation, too. My husband does not work from home, but I have been homeschooling my two beautiful children for six years.

My sanctuary changes from time to time. I go to a Bible Study twice a month with my girlfriends. I love that! I have been known to go to high school sporting events with my parents, but not my husband or children. I also have to admit to an addiction to Webkinz. I love to play games on my children’s Webkinz accounts. It is an escape for me. I get to enjoy using my brain without answering anyone else’s questions.

Your giveaway sounds lovely. Maybe I’ll be fortunate enough to win!

  6. I love these stories!

    Uh, let’s see…
    1) Work. (Ain’t that sad?)
    2) Work.
    3) 1989 (OK, I’m guessing here.)

  7. 1) I don’t really have one. Unless I sit upstairs in bed with the laptop.
    2) I am an internet addict.
    3) My family generally doesn’t bother me when I’m in the bathroom, except my daughter cries, but my husband tries to handle it so it’s not that bad. Probably just a couple of days ago.

Jennys last blog post..Baby sling giveaway!

  8. Hey! I got to go potty today without interuption! I’m sure it will be the only time today! In fact, that’s when I replied… oh! too much info.!? Ha! Just kidding! Sanctuary? None! I’m going nuts! If the littlest boy would get over his cold (3 weeks now) I would consider that a sanctuary. We are beginning to wonder if his grouchiness is a phase.

You can enter me in your drawing, but I wonder a little if my boys would bother me even more if I smelled so sweet!

BTW- great job on the Adventures of Heidi!

  9. My sanctuary is my bedroom and I have never used the bathroom without somebody yelling at me to hurry up!

  10. Oh my goodness – I love your blog! So fun! My sanctuary is on my couch during naptime. I just lay there, even if I don’t fall asleep. Time alone? I sleep, or read, or sew, or knit. I think I might’ve used the bathroom in peace sometime last week, but it’s hard to remember. 2 boys under age 3 = no peace for mama.

Leighs last blog post..My first Bloggy Giveaway giveaway!

  11. When I have time alone, I sleep and/or read. Pretty boring, but very lovely. Of course, my kids are teenagers now and my husband is in the field, so time along is sometimes icky icky.

cathy daviss last blog post..Oh the places my mind can (and will) go…

  12. Hi Heidi! Glad to see you blogging again.

My sanctuary is going to the gym by myself and working out for 45-60 minutes and it relieves all my stress.

    Miss you guys.

  13. i am rotfl! you are hilarious!
alone time? no idea what that is – i have 7 kids, most a year apart from each other and a brand new baby. !! i would read if i had time! i NEVER go to the bathroom alone! ( or take a shower alone either)

tami lewiss last blog post..a contest and a recipe

  14. My sanctuary would be living room after bed time. I usually read a book or find a show to watch. I usually get some peace on Mondays because my husband will entertain the older kids while the baby naps.

  15. When I have time alone I like to veg out and watch gilmour girls or play around on the computer!

  16. You’re going to email them? ROTFL THANKS. I wasn’t even going to enter. But if you’ll email….

Gosh, maybe while they’re laughing their heads off at the email, I can slip out the door and close it without anyone noticing. You think?

AND, I’m a blessed woman this week. My MIL is here for the ENTIRE WEEK to distract the kids. I’ve not only peed today without being hollared at, I’ve peed like THREE times today without anyone noticing. šŸ™‚

    Great blog! LOVED the post.

  17. Bathroom privacy? HAHAHAAHA Even my hubster comes in- I get the HON! me: WAHT?? oh, ther eyou are.. comment. Like, um, no,I’ve fallen in. Geesh

My sanctuary is church choir. I get an hour to myself 2 times a week, and a way to worship. A win/win, all around!

  18. My sanctuary? The couch when my son is napping in his room. That’s my alone time when I blog usually. I can’t remember the last time I was in the bathroom without someone either in there with me or yelling through the door. My husband used to work at home. He and my son were always around 24/7. I love them dearly, but a girl needs to be alone sometimes. I feel your pain.

  19. Where is your sanctuary? The hot tub

What do you do when you have time alone? read

When was the last time you used the restroom without someone yelling through the door? Now that my kids are older, I am able to do this!

    i need the earpugs though!

  20. When I have time alone, I like to catch up on a bit of reading with a nice cup of tea! And I loved your lil picture story very cute!

  21. My sanctuary has to be my couch in the evenings after the kids have all gone to bed. When I have time alone I either spend it cleaning the house or watching TV. Nothing too exciting. And I don’t really remember the last time I could go to the bathroom in peace. LOL. Anyways, thanks for the giveaway!

  22. hahah gumby rocks! Um my sactuary is my bed at the end of the day, the last time I peed in peace was 10 years ago, alone time? no such thing

  23. When was the last time you used the restroom without someone yelling through the door?

Since my daughter is only 15 months old, I have not had the bathroom door closed for 15 months. For #1 OR #2. Delightful.

    Susans last blog post..Wordless Monday

  24. Where is your sanctuary? Hubby’s workshop or my office. Either one is quieter than my house. šŸ™‚
What do you do when you have time alone? Take a nap or a hot bath.
When was the last time you used the restroom without someone yelling through the door? At work this evening. At home, rarely. I can’t remember when, maybe this morning as the kids were still sleeping when I got up. The older kids had the day off and I let them all sleep late.

    Dorothys last blog post..New Dr

  25. My alone time is now, usually after 9 pm.. so its either stay up late and actually enjoy it or get some sleep and never have a bit of peace and quite! I’m actually a night owl so I spend my time doing what I love blogging about my wonderful (lil’ monsters) children! šŸ™‚ Great giveaway, everything sounds soo soothing!

Kristinia – Loving Heart Mommys last blog post..Bloggy Carnival is OH SOO MUCH FUN!!!

  26. My “Me” time is spent in a long hot bath followed by curling up with a good book.
My kids used to knock at the bathroom door and yell “Mom” and I’d say “come in, I’ve been expecting you” They finally got the message and stopped that.

  27. That was the most creative post I have ever seen & I really enjoyed it. And I have all of those, plus 1 extra child (I’m guess you have 1), 1 extra dog and 3 fish that my son swore he would take care of. And if it makes you feel any better, one of the dogs is a 75lb. German Shepherd and he’s only 6 MONTHS! He’s insane, but anyway.

To answer your question, when I am alone, which is usually when all the kids have gone to bed, that includes the hubs, 2 kids and 2 dogs so 5 breathing being’s that act like children, I like to read and drink a glass of red wine. Where is my sanctuary? What’s that? Probably my car. LOL!

  28. My sanctuary, if my family is home, is my bedroom. During the day when they’re all at school and work, it’s a couch in my living room where I curl up with my cocoa, blanket and book. And I think the last time someone knocked on the door while I was in the bathroom was yesterday. I do have to say that my husband is awesome about making sure I get “me” time. Terrific giveaway. Thanks!

  29. My bathroom is my sanctuary. There is a lock on the door and a nice big tub. Everything else is pretty much fair game in the house. Thanks!

  30. My sanctuary is the library. Since the kids went back to school, I try to get there at least once a week and enjoy the quiet there..reading through the magazines. I really cannot remember the last time I went the bathroom without someone or one of the cats barging in…lol!

  31. hmmm when the kids are in bed I usually grab my laptop and sit on the couch hoping to catch a show and do some blogging at the same time!!

  32. My sanctuary time is after children/hubby are in bed, it’s quiet and I get all “me” time on the laptop, surfing to my heart’s content! Great giveaway – thanks for offering!

  33. A bubble bath sounds good to me right now.

  34. That’s so cute!! šŸ™‚
My sanctuary is my bedroom. I run in there to hide and just do what I like šŸ™‚

    bunnybx at gmail . com

  35. How creative was that!! So cool!

I have a little craft room (aka walk in closet) that is my happy place. When I get time to myself (which is pretty often because of my wonderful hubs) I either craft, read or blog surf.

Did you say something about being in the bathroom by myself?!? Hmmm… That would have been before my son was mobile. The other day I tried to be slick and locked the door. About two seconds later I see little fingers under the door. Then he says in a high pitched voice “Mommy makey potty?”, “Oh good job sitting toyette Mommy!” The whole time I could hear my hubs cracking up! Ya, can you tell we’re potty training?!? LOL

Thanks for the chance to win! Happy Fall!

Kay Drenths last blog post..Few Layout and some big news!!

  36. Whenever I have time alone, I spend it reading.

  37. I just subscribed! My sanctuary is my tv room, with my husband. I’d love to win ! Thanks for this nice giveaway. cdziuba@aol.com

  38. Seriously girl, you have mad doll house skillz. My favorite was the bubble bath. (at home. is implied).

Starting next week, my hubby is working from home too. and I home school too although I can’t promise my students can spell school. I think we are in the same situation completely.

I take a bath EVERY night after the kids go to bed. Without that time ALONE I would be even crazier than now. Oh, and someone was screaming and knocking on my bathroom door about 15 minutes ago.

  39. My sanctuary is my master suite, either in bed or the tub. And Target. I listen to music or read. I never sleep. Ever.

The last time I used the bathroom without company was when I went to rehab in April. It was really a mini Mommy vacation but I called it rehab.

Connie @ Young & Relentlesss last blog post..Christmas in October

  40. I used to get my alone time on my way to work – in the car. But now I drive the kids to the sitter’s house and I only drive about 4 minutes to work after that – NOT enough time. I suppose I find some alone time in the shower on the weekends when Husband is home. But even then I can hear the screams and the cries. Ear plugs? Sounds like a great idea.

    Cathys last blog post..Birth Order

  41. Well, I can think of a couple of occasions where I was able to use the bathroom without someone yelling through or barging through the door…but they all are times when my mother in law took my girls for a few hours!

Actually, when we got our dog 5 years ago was when the not being able to go to the bathroom by myself started…so there is a chance that he followed me in when the girls were gone but is much quieter so I don’t remember him being there…

    Great giveaway!

majellamoms last blog post..Bloggy Giveaway – Slime Laboratory!

  42. Where is your sanctuary? My sanctuary is my bathroom when I can lock the door behind me.

What do you do when you have time alone? READ! SLEEP! Just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet.

When was the last time you used the restroom without someone yelling through the door? You are kidding me right? My dog AND my cats are also guilty of following me into the bathroom, along with the kids and even my husband! I can’t tell you the last time I was alone in the bathroom. Even when I take a shower someone (dog or one of the cats) creeps in and I find them sitting on the toilet seat waiting for me or lying on the mat I need to step on to get out of the shower.

    Thanks for a great giveaway!

  43. Hee, hee, I loved the visuals…lately my sanctuary has been the hill behind our house because my hubby also works at home and can’t understand why that would be so annoying.

Sara B.s last blog post..Pre-Halloween Halloween???

  44. My sanctuary?? Wherever I can hide! LOL! I’ve been known to hide in the kids room, since they only go in there to sleep… I’ve even napped on their bedroom floor once!!

I also hide in the bathroom, my kids don’t yell through the door, because that’s when they take the opportunity to get into trouble – while I’m out of sight.

  45. the last time i used the restroom in quiet was last night at 2 a.m.

  46. ha, yelling through the door? how about banging on it or taking a spoon to pick the lock on the door, or my favorite in the public restrooms when my little creatures decide to crawl under to see me or their siblings on the nice sanitized public restroom floors!!?

  47. The last time I used the restroom without someone yelling through the door? That would be over two years ago. *sigh* Thanks for the chance to win such a great prize!!
    give_me_a_latte at yahoo

  48. my sanctuary is in my bedroom

when i have time alone, I either read or play on the computer

luckily my kids have grown past the stage where they barge in on me in the bathroom. In fact, my boys cringe now when I don’t shut the door. haha! But I went through MANY years of never being alone in the bathroom with 4 kids!!

Jennys last blog post..he ain’t no dummy

  49. I have only a 1 year old son so my sanctuary and quiet time / the time I work is while he is napping. I love it! Thanks!

  50. Very cute and creative. Love the prizes. šŸ™‚

  51. The last time I went to the bathroom without being whined at throught the door was 3 years ago. What? You say, “Tami, You don’t have any children living at your house so what are you talking about?”

While it’s true I don’t have children I do have 5 cats. If I am ever bold enough to go to the bathroom and close the door I will inevitably have as many kitty paws as can fit waving at me from under the door. The are certain that I am in there keeping all of the sardines to myself and they protest loudly. They wave. They cry. They scratch the door. They fight with each other.

Then when I open the door they breezily step away and I can hear each one of them say…”I didn’t want to go in there…it was everyone else”, as they saunter away.

Casey Hs last blog post..BLOGGY CARNIVAL TIME!!!

  53. I wish I had a sanctuary! I never get complete time alone since I’m always home with the kids. As for the bathroom I end up leaving door partially open. If I don’t my 3 year old has figured out if he sticks a qtip in the small hole on the door knob he can pick the lock. Also if I lock the door the little guy knocks all my towels and wash cloths off the closet shelves. But I think the best quiet time is when my daughter is at school and if my son takes a nap.

Shilo Beedys last blog post..Scary Mommy Contest

  54. Last Friday I convinced hubs to stop by home prior to going to the hardware store for the last bits of the latest project and pick up our son. About two seconds after handing off our little man to his daddy, I announced that I was taking a bath. And even though hubs took a sweetly long amount of time at the hardware store, I was still in the tub when they got home. But even though the little man was asking where mama was when they got home, my sweet hubs made sure he left me alone until I was done.

That was both the last thing I did for me _and_ the last time I made it through time in the bathroom without someone knocking or just walking in (now that little man’s tall enough to open doors).

    And your story was AWESOME!

  57. My sanctuary is my bedroom where I eat popcorn and watch movies, read a book or just take a nap when DH take the kids for an afternoon out. The last time I used the bathroom without anyone yelling through the door (or just coming right in!) was before the kids could walk!

  58. When was the last time someone didn’t yell through the restroom door??? How about, “When was the last time someone didn’t walk in?” We don’t have locks on our bathroom doors and there is always someone looking for me, no matter what 2 minutes I take to be “alone.” (grin!) Actually, I can usually squeeze at least one interruption-free bathroom break in per day. Thanks for the giveaway.

  59. My sanctuary is my closet, weird I know but I like the order and the kids don’t go in there. I usually read blogs when I have downtime (during the hours of eight and twelve pm, since Little Man decided to start waking up all the time again. I don’t get them yelling at me through the door, they’re walk right in kind of kids. Thanks.

  60. When I have alone time, I usually watch what I want to watch on TV and paint my nails. I also catch up on magazines and blogs!

  61. My “sanctuary” is my bedroom. I try to keep everyone out, and although that doesn’t always happen, it’s still the place I go when I need to chill.

Kathys last blog post..Watercolor portrait giveaway

  62. I don’t really have a sanctuary, but I guess the closest I have is my car or the local Starbucks. Or the local library. When I have time alone I usually spend it on the computer, usually on twitter or reading blogs. Hmmm, the last time I used the restroom with out someone yelling through the door, good question. 2 years and 2 months ago, when I was still pregnant with my now 2 year old. That is also probably the amount of time it has been since I had a good night sleep.

I love your little pics, I had to subscribe to your blog! šŸ™‚

  63. When I have an hour alone (which is very rare) I run off to my sanctuary which is my tub. I light some candles, put on some soft music and run an extra hot bubble bath.

and my wonderful husband has promised that if I win one he will take the kids to the park for two hours !!

  71. The last time I went to the bathroom in peace was only a few weeks ago. Shocking, huh? Hubby was at work, my Mom took the 3 girls to eat and the baby was taking a nap.

  79. lol, I love it! I very rarely get time alone. Sanctuary? Walking to the mailbox… sometimes I walk really, really slow and imagine I’m walking through the store by myself without my daughter saying, “Mama, this, mama, look! Mama Sammy want!” The time I do, or did, get alone is after both kids are asleep, which used to be around 9, but slowly my 3 year old started staying up later and later to stay with mommy and now I’m ready to crash at 3 AM and she is STILL awake. Thankfully she doesn’t start school for another year. When I do get free time to myself I like to spend it browsing around online or taking a much needed nap. I rarely have the problem of being yelled at THROUGH the bathroom door because I can’t even CLOSE the bathroom door!

  80. home, never…emm last time I was alone- oh you mean you can go alone- cool – the next time I go alone will be when I am old and alone and fall and cannot get up and don’t have one of those pushy things

would love to win…looks great, please enter me…mrs.mommyyatgmail.com

  81. Is it awful to say that I like to sleep when I’m alone? I usually end up catching up on laundry or bills or something…not so much relaxing! I’d love this basket…yum.
    poncey76 at hotmail

  82. My sanctuary is sadly my bathroom, though there is a nice soaking tub in it which I use whenever I feel I have enough time. My daughter can’ talk yet, but she has a nice pair of lungs on her so I can hear her in her crib no matter where I am. Hubby is just as bad, asking me to look at various things around the house despite the fact that I’m the one that doesn’t leave here so I’ve already notice them.

  83. When was the last time you used the restroom without someone yelling through the door? You mean some people have complete privacy in the bathroom? What a novel idea lol. Honestly though, I don’t remember the last time. Thanks for the giveaway!

  84. I play on the computer or take a bubble bath.

    thanks for a chance.

  85. My toddler doesn’t yell through the door. He just opens it and comes on in.

  86. My sanctuary is my bedroom. I love to lounge on my bed, curl up under a blanket, and read a good book. Sadly to say this doesn’t happen as much as I would like anymore. I can’t remember the last time someone just didn’t walk in on me in the bathroom at home (unless it’s the middle of the night.)

  87. i love “me” time!

my santuary would be my bedroom.
and i like to read blogs while painting my fingernails during my free time =)

  88. My sanctuary is a nature path I walk alone. It is my little piece of heaven. Thanks for the giveaway.

  89. on the rare occasion of being alone I relax&watch csi
Now as far as the bathroom I usually haveat least one kid&dog with meeeee!!

  90. LOL! That was so cute! I love to scrapbook, which is time consuming and needs concentration. So, I like to go down in my craft room and create some pages and it really is great getting away from it all to have some quality “Me time” away from my hubby, 3 kids and dog! šŸ™‚ Thank you so much for doing this giveaway for us!

  91. This is the funniest contest post I have EVER SEEN. Way to go, Heidi. You’ve convinced me to look around, bookmark your site and come back again when I’m not trying to enter as many contests as i can in the limited time I’ve got.

I like to retreat to the bath tub for a nice long soak.
And I love to read when I’m alone!

  99. That was AWESOME!

I can’t remember the last time I used the “potty” without someone being IN there with me much less yelling through the door.

I usually like to get caught up on my crafts and projects when I do have alone time. Sometimes I like to read too.

    This is a cool giveaway!

    Thanks for the chance

  100. My sanctuary is in the 3rd bedroom on the computer. I love blogging!

  101. Love your blog and all the thought you must put into it. I also love your idea of making my family leave me alone, great plan! If only it would work. Honestly I don’t get time alone unless my baby is napping and that is my internet/reading time. Yea for naps! Now if they would just last longer!

  102. My oldest child is 10 – so it’s been at least that long since I was able to use the bathroom in peace.

When I want to run away and have some time to myself, I go to McDonald’s, order a soft serve cone, and sit in the parking lot and read.

It’s short, it’s simple, but Praise God, it’s SILENT

    Jesicas last blog post..I’m Home!

  103. When I have some “me” time, I usually do some type of craft, read or surf the net.

  106. I have my alone time while my son in sleeping or in “quiet time.” I usually use that time to craft, read, or blog!

If I can find any time alone, I love to curl up with a good book, or watch some trash (reality) tv.

Thanks for the giveaway, and the great entertaining blog.

  108. When I have time alone I like to write.

  109. When I’m alone, i get a lot of work done! šŸ˜€ And I watch all the tv shows I’ve missed during the week šŸ˜€

  110. Another great Heidi post. My kids are now old enough to not yell at me when I am in the bathroom. I do NOT miss it. And I blog for indulgence.

  111. Oh I really LOVED the creative way you did this post! So original for sure! Ok, now to answer the questions: my private resting spot is usually in my car over by the local college pond watching people go by and the ducks swim lazily across the water. When I get a rare moment alone, I usually go online or read a book. and finally, it has been about 3 days since I wasn’t followed to the bathroom by my daughter or my son hasn’t yelled thru the door-the cats still follow me in and watch, does that count?

  112. That was the funniest post I’ve read all week! šŸ™‚ I’m going to subscribe!

Where is your sanctuary? My bed. Assuming there are not kids, cats, or a husband there…. and most of the time there is some combination of the above.

What do you do when you have time alone? Read. Surf. Eat things without anyone telling me how gross they are (french onion soup) and without anyone wanting a bite every two seconds.

When was the last time you used the restroom without someone yelling through the door? Well, at home, that would be hard to say. However, at work today (I work PT) my coworkers did not bother me, LOL.

Where is your sanctuary? Sadly, it’s in the garage.

What do you do when you have time alone? I never have time alone. So, what do I do when I have time alone? Nothing special, really.

When was the last time you used the restroom without someone yelling through the door? It’s practically an every day thing. With 4 other people living in the house, they’re always wanting something!

  114. Funny but my sanctuary is my restroom lol i hide out there quite often lololol Awesome Giveaway. Thank you for the chance to win šŸ™‚

  115. THe last time I went to the bathroom uninterupted was 1988.

  117. That was, by far, the best Bloggy Giveaways opening I’ve ever seen. So creative!!! Now let me see if I can remember what the questions were….
    1. My sanctuary is my church. I go on Wed. nights for Bible study, and there I am just Julie, not Mommy, not wife, nothing…just me, laughing and talking and learning with my friends.
    2. When I have alone time I paint a little, or I get online, or I write.
    3. I peed by myself about 30 minutes ago, but only because both kids are in bed. šŸ™‚

  120. That is freakin’ hilarious!

Where is your sanctuary? My bathtub full of bubbes.
What do you do when you have time alone? I’m sorry, wha???
When was the last time you used the restroom without someone yelling through the door? Just now. Only because I’m the only person awake in this house. Usually they don’t bother yelling through the door, they just barge on in.

  127. What a cute idea for a blog! My sanctuary is my bed, curled up with a good book. Thanks for a great give-away!

  128. I love the third question. The only time I can use the bathroom without someone yelling at me through the door is if we’re out in public and my husband and child are too far away for me to hear them. At home is a different story. Thanks for the giveaway!

  130. What do you do when you have time alone?
I get some me time on the computer interacting with other moms

  131. I loved that! Very creative and oh so true. Ok I have time alone quite a bit because my children are grown but I would love to win one of these and I promise I will give it to my DIL. She and my son have four young kiddos and her life resembles yours only louder. I would even give her the alone time and babysit all four (oh Lord what did I just type?) for a couple of hours.

Thanks for the giveaway and the laughs!

  132. My sanctuary is my nice big fluffy bed. I love to curl up with a book, a cup of coffee and a cat.

  133. I would love some indulgence! As for the family….I sent them grocery shopping so I could enter some giveaways!!!

  134. My sanctuary is my bathtub but I never get there–if I have the time, it’s dirty and I wind up cleaning it instead. The last time I had peaceful bathroom time was…2004.

  135. LOL, such a creative intro. I couldn’t help but become engrossed in each pictorial presentation!

When was the last time I went to the bathroom without someone yelling through the door? The last time, actually. Which was only about an hour ago. Unfortunately, the yelling for mommy continued the entire time I was in there, while daddy tried futilely to calm the yelling. It stopped when I came back out.

I can’t remember going to the bathroom in peace in the last 5 years. At least, not in daylight hours. Maybe this is why I’m such a night-owl.

  136. My sanctuary is the laundry room. When I have time alone I love to read. Calling my name through the door, you assume that I am alone in the bathroom.

  137. I do manage to pee in peace, but only bec I am the only one home all day – ha!

My sanctuary is my study. I have candles and a waterfall in here. I come in and close the French doors and they know it had better be an emergency if they knock!

    Thanks for having the giveaway!

  138. My bathroom is my sanctuary… it’s the only place I get truly “alone” time. Aaahhh…

  139. I like to read when I have alone time.

    Thank you!

    janetfaye (at) gmail (dot) com

  140. My sanctuary is Sunday mornings in my bedrom, kids are at church with the grandparents and hubby is at his basketball league. Close the blinds, snuggle up with a good book under the covers…ZZZZZZZZZZ!

    Tammys last blog post..Destination Disney

  142. Even though it’s been a LONG time since I have used the washroom without someone trying to talk through the door or pounding on it, a nice hot bath with a book and a cup of tea is where my sanctuary is. When I have time alone outside the house I go to Starbucks and sit there and read ALL BY MYSELF. It’s great!

  143. My sanctuary is my living room… it is sunny and happy and warm (and I live in a very cold place) and I could spend all weekend alone in there and be happy!

  144. My sanctuary is my bedroom. I have a super comfy bed and the ceiling and walls are painted dark blue. My kids are 14, 10,8 and 6 and they still yell everytime I close the bathroom door. Oddly enough they do not do it with my hubby.

  145. My is your sanctuary is my bedroom.

  146. I do not have a santuary (unless you count the couch). I relax by spending time on the computer. Finally NO I do get to use the restroom in peace
