Sincerely

This picture has nothing to do with anything, but it made me smile. I thought it might do the same for you.
You know what else made me smile this week?
A very kind and thoughtful reader sent me a thank you email. She took the time to let me know that she appreciates the work I’m trying to do here. I was having an Alexander day – you know, the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad kind of day? To be honest with you, my heart was sort of breaking over something that I have no power to change. And I was feeling oh-so sad about it.
But then, I opened my inbox and there was this gift. Of course, it didn’t take away my sadness, but it did lighten it. Her heartfelt gesture was meaningful to me.
Here’s the thing. It doesn’t take much time to show someone you care, to say thank you, or to just say “hey, I’m thinking of you”, but even simple gestures can mean so much.
I am feeling inspired to pass along the love. I’ll be spending the weekend crafting some thank you notes to a few people that have inspired me, been an example to me, or have just plain made me happy.
I’m starting here:

Dear Readers,
Thank you for sharing this space with me. There are so many words out here in the blogosphere – thank you for taking the time to read mine. That you have chosen to spend your time here with me? That is an honor. I want you to know that to me you are more than page-views, site visitors, or numbers on a chart.  I appreciate you! Have a great weekend.
Love,
Heidi

  1. I think the most heart breaking things are often the ones you have no power to change because you not just dealing with the upsetting situation but also your inability to do anything about.

I will add, too, a thank you for all you do. We’ve been fans for so long.

  3. Ha ha! Quinlynn calls Riley the King of the Dinosaurs because he has a big body and shorter arms! This made me smile!
